| About Me |
After building and fixing computers for friends and family for the past six years, I have expanded my hobby into a neighbourhood service. My original interest developed thanks to my children. As new video games were coming out demanding faster processing speed and more RAM, our old computer just couldn't keep up! I decided to save some money by doing some upgrades myself and found the experience both enjoyable and rewarding. After the first upgrade I moved on to building computers from scratch using a variety of parts, both new and used. The search for parts was half the adventure! I also caught the networking bug and had great fun running cables all over the house before wireless routers were "in". Not to forget the software end of things... After all the pieces and parts are put together, something else I like to do is "clean house". This is my expression for seeing that programs are installed properly and there is no clutter causing your computer not to fun as fast as it should. |
This kind of tune-up is geared toward your software configuration. I will look at which programs are installed and make recommendations for optimization, e.g. removal of unnecessary files and defragmentation of hard drive to free up space and gain efficiency. I will also make sure you have the latest drivers for your hardware for maximum performance. I will run scans for adware/spyware and remove files as appropriate. I will also check your registry for errors and repair accordingly or, in some cases, my advice will be to reformat your hard drive and cleanly re-install your operating system and programs. This can be all be done with absolutely no loss of personal documents, address books, internet favourites/bookmarks, etc. |

Based on the kind of motherboard you have (and what kind of hardware it supports) I will make recommendations on whether the CPU, RAM or Video Card can be upgraded. A bigger, or second hard drive are also possible options. These components are all key to making your computer run faster. If you decide to "go for it", you'll pay for parts up front. I'll pick them up and install them and have that old computer running better than ever! |

This is pretty easy, just tell me what you want and I build it for you! If you don't know what you will need then we can figure out the best system for what you want to do with it. Nothing too big, nothing too small and always the ability to upgrade! |
